About me.

I’m Victor Bezrukov – Israel-based Unplugged Freelance Photographer, IT specialist and Information Security consultant.

I was involved in photography by my son in 2005 and passed not conventional way from digital to Analog photography. The start in photography was not too special or different from others so better I will tell you about the early unsuccessful part.

When I was 10-12 years old we traveled with my mother to the place of my birth, a small city located in the north of the western half of Ukraine, about 131 kilometers from Kyiv (Kiev???). This city was our traditional destination almost every summer. before this specific trip, I got a very long-awaited gift from my parents – a fantastic Smena-8M type 3b camera with which I could capture the story of our trip (3.800 km in each direction). I shot almost the whole of the first roll and finally forgot my first film camera on one of the trains on our way home. I am sure that someone found it and even finished the role in my first film and I hope that also developed this roll.

It took some long 30 years for me to get out of deep fear of losing (or forgetting) another camera. Today I use both formats and even started to develop BW film at home. My interests in photography are possibly described as “under construction” – I’m still searching for what I love to photograph – Documentary Storytelling, Behind-the-scenes, Band Photography, Street, Miksang, Portraits, and Landscapes, and experiments with different gear. I love to bring a dramatic look to my work. Contrasts, geometry, sometimes emptiness, craziness, happiness, and melancholy are my best friends in this mission. seems like “Life Photography” is the best description of what I do.

“Follow the light !!!” is the best advice that I can give to one who asks me for it.

  2. Я среди тех тысяч,кого впечатлило ваше творчество. Неординарное видение мира, и удивитедьная работа. Спасибо.

  3. I’ve followed your work for over a year now & it’s always a breath of fresh air for me to have a few minutes of free time to see what you are up to. You capture those moments…the ones we are constantly reminding ourselves to be in. It’s that sweet reminder that we are not the only ones in this world. I try “very hard” to stop everyday and look around me. Realize it’s not all about me!! It’s very humbling and a great gift to PAUSE!! Thank you for giving us such a wonderful view! Elle

    2. Do you have any “rolemodel´s” that you look up to and get inspiration from?
    3. What do you love about photography?
    4. Which of your works are you most happy about and why?

  5. What a wonderful and inspiring blog, Victor! Thank you so much for your visit! Because of that I found lots of impressing images! Surely I’ll check it again in the future.

  6. Victor- I follow Leicalady2010 on Etsy! I have one of her ballet paintings as my profile as my Twitter profile pic. I hope you don’t mind her finding her through me. She is a great artist. My neice is a dancer in a performance art school . I started teaching her dance positions before she could barely walk. Another reason for photography!!! HA! I am still praying for your safety and for peace. I know it is all complicated, but I am not listening to anyone but you when you have time. I hope you were not too close to airport. Peace.

    1. Thank you for recommendations Harold !
actually next week i have some short trip to Barcelona and looking for the interesting information but not about popular touristic locations.

  8. Thank you for finding my blog and I certainly love your photography very much, I can see it is done with the light and the heart..maybe sometimes lighthearted as well!

    1. Hey Paula ! Thank you for taking a look and very kind words ! Indeed – light is everything; -)

  9. “Per ardua ad astra”…inspirational pathways always deplete our contrast thus throwing us into the mercy of the street…greetings from Sweden…

  10. I absolutely LOVE your photos! The lighting and contrasting colors in each one are inspiring. Also, you manage to capture simple parts of life that so many people miss and walk past each day and create a new way to look at it with beauty and depth. I myself am a budding photographer, and I mostly take pictures of nature. I hope to be able to one day capture the beauty of man-made objects and places as well as you do!

  11. Hi Victor, many thanks for dropping by & liking my post ‘The Snooze’. I’m glad you did because I’ve now discovered your wonderful site & followed it. I love some of your urban shots, the beautifully framed bicycle shadow is a particular favourite.

    Many Thanks, Urban Shutterbug.

  12. Hi Victor – found your site from a comment you made on ‘Thewebdarkroom’ and so glad I did.
Have thoroughly enjoyed looking at your images & look forward to more.

    David.

    1. Hi David ! Thank you for this careful browsing and taking a look plus tsunami of likes ! Your “thewebdarkroom” is still open in one of my Chrome tabs and i return back from time to time to read something influencing me. From the post i commenting on, i learned a lot about how to use lightmeter and hope to use your tips in practice ! Thank you and hope to be in touch David !

  13. Hi Victor! I really like your work. Where can I buy B&W 35mm film in Jerusalem? I used to have a darkroom in Chile many years ago. Today I am studying photography again and I also bought a couple of film cameras.

      1. Hi Victor
how can I contact you to talk about film photography ?
Maybe send me an email and / or a cel number where I can call you.
        have a great day

  14. I would like to know how i might be able to purchase a print of yours? I like the print of Hands molding clay.

  15. Wow…Great images. You have a real talent my friend. Just wanted to say thank you for kindly visiting
my own blog; It’s much appreciated.
I shall follow the light and look forward to returning to learn more about your passion for photography.
    Regards
    Bob

  16. Its great to hear of a B&W enthusiast – even more one who “makes” as well as takes photos by doing D&P as well. My experience has been the reverse – Age-related eye problems have meant I have had to go into auto-focus digital equipment and digital printing. However photography is still photography and carries its own intrinsic awards. Enjoy your work. Looking forward to your blog. Des.

    1. Thank you very much for the kind words Des. Digital or analog – finally we need something to take pictures. Both ways are great 😉 have a nice weekend Des

    1. Thank you Georgie for the kind words. 4 weeks is long enough to see many wonderful things here – the country is very small and if one has some good fixer-guide its possible to see the whole country. Sure that the deeper familiarization needs some more time and longer dedication but this is right for everything 😉 I am happy that you loved the country.
I tried to check the link but got an error. When this post was published please ?
