Barcelona 2017 – walking with Ricoh GR1s and Fujifilm Velvia 100F – part iv (the last one)

These days I’m trying not to read these sad news about anger and violence, riots and provocations, protests and strikes, injured and treated in Barcelona. I’m not one who knows the right answer and solution and also not the one who will pour oil on the flame from a remote position of someone who knows nothing about their history but in hopes of a bright future. and if you ask me – I support this idea about independent coexistence, but without blood – we are much more progressive and in many parts of the world managed to find the consensus – oh really – I don’t remember one sample, just hope that there is one. probably – forgotten Czechoslovakia after the Velvet Divorce divided into the Czech Republic and Slovakia or all the small countries created after the breakup of Yugoslavia (i know – the bad sample).

Anyway – my posts are not about politics, so I just continue and finish the series of analogue photographs I started to publish in my “previous posts” and would like to finish this series today and continue with something different. I still have plenty of unposted in any place photographs from “Ethiopia”. also numerous from my frequent trips to “Jerusalem” plus two developed and already scanned rolls of the 135 film from “Munich”.

One of the good news from the last week is a “Indiegogo campaign” pre-launch announcement by the Saint-Petersburg’s Film Photography company “Silberra”. If you interesting to know more about this company and their film, there is an “Emulsive interview” with Sillberra’s founders, Vladimir and Konstantin.

enjoy the colors of Barcelona.

  1. Fabulous shots of this troubled city but life goes on and is not nearly so chaotic possibly as it appears to be on our TV screens, wish we were a bit more lively here in the UK with Brixit looming over us like a thick black cloud.

    1. hey Paula. thank you very much for taking a look and writing.
i really understand your words about UK and Brixit. I always loved this crazy beautifilul idea of the United Europe when ppl can feel free to move everywhere without borders, to share their culture and to be closer – less borders less wars. not in possibilities for my country in closest or far future. but looks like our civilization slowly going to the opposite direction – hope that I’m wrong.
have nice and peaceful day Paula !

  2. I love what you wrote Victor! And I sign your words.
And to say something about your photography – you know how much I adore your work, a constant source of inspiration and delight. And so are these. I especially love the ones with motion in it.
Look forward to what comes next.
Have a great weekend dear friend!
    Love and peace, Juergen

    1. hey Jurgen ! I’m happy to read this from you. and a reason – you are a black and white photography master and to read such kind words on my rare color images is a big pleasure for me.
Love and peace my friend !

      1. You are most welcome dear friend! Sometimes I too capture in color 🙂 Thank you for the big compliment.
Love and peace for you and the entire world!

  3. Hi Victor,

Another great set of images – I really like some of the motion blur and the lo-fi colour look. Do you process and scan these youself? I still have terrible trouble getting good colour from film scans, usually ending up with something that either looks almost indistinguishable from digital or which looks nothing like a real film print.

Do not fret about violence in Barcelona. Having been at most of the events, I think that the violence has been hugely exaggerated in the media. More serious is the economic & social damage, which will take decades to heal,
