this post was unavoidable, even i delayed it more then year, but all the time kept it in mind. may be this collection of the images taken during my trip to this wonderful country is much less colorful / picturesque / breathtaking / good-composed / portrait-oriented, but i think that impossible not to show how different and busy were roads during our many hundreds km journey.

the ethiopian roads are always populated. many villages just are located on the both sides of the “fast” road passes right in the middle. seems like all the fun is happening here on the roadway. kids and animals, dressy walkers and hurrying from the fields people. many of them are carrying their ancient rifles, or Kalashnikov assault rifles, or umbrellas, or just sheep hooks. some of them with a stuff on their heads or on donkeys. you can stop your car in the middle of nothing and in a few minutes find yourself with a few or few dozens spectators around you. mostly kids, but not only. almost always very friendly. .

about the last four images – we met a wedding ceremony. bride and groom are together on his horse. with many armed men around. with Kalashnikov in groom’s hands. super impressively look. .

enjoy the life of Ethiopian roads…

  1. Hey Victor, ißm sitting on Accra Airport when your post reached to me. Yes here in Ghana is the same situation. It seems, the life plays along the roads. So i also fetched many captures out of the car window while we passing by. IIt was a wonderful trip with wonderful people. When i watch your pictures i think yours was similar.

    1. So good timing. So we can think about very specific culture – living among the road, building new houses with the road and to get out to these roads. Will wait for your posts about this trip my friend
