Fomapan 400 with Holga – plastic medium format camera – part ii

another roll, another wonderful inspiration and feeling of the very light and silent, and focusing not too well, full of bugs and light leaks camera – plastic Holga 120GN. the one of the biggest advantages of this camera – it’s MEDIUM FORMAT – in other words we can use 120 film with in and to have these huge negatives – it forgives all the disadvantages and limitations. another great “feature” of this camera – easy multiple exposure option. we can make one-two-endless amount of clicks on the same frame but of course better to envisage such kind of use before and to load 50-100-200 ISO film for better results. for the same reason recommended to set the only one exposure on-camera setting to “Sunny” ( ƒ/13.3 ) mode. (i read that possible to drill out the hole to get ƒ/8 – someone know how to do it ??)

for this post i used Fomapan 400 film again and multi-exposure for almost all of frames of this roll. in some examples you can easily find this and in some examples the only one layer is visible.
i’m still researching this awesome feature and hope to bring much more in my future posts (the next, third roll of Fomapan is finished last weekend and waiting in my fridge for chemicals). as usual i used semi-stand developing process in R09 (Rodinal) developer. one hour waiting pause is perfect for me between this and then to scan the previous developed film.

enjoy the multi-layered frames …

  1. Grat series – as usual and as Frank Lehnen said – it’s the guy behind the camera.
I too have a Holga 120GN – the “G” stands for “Glass Lens”. The Holga 120N owns a plastic lens…

      1. The focussing, yeah! But somehow it works.
The Minox GT-E for example has no focussing too. You have to estimate the distance. But somehow it works 🙂

  2. What lovely, interesting, UNEXPECTED images, Victor! I agree with all of the other readers who have complimented the guy behind the camera. 🙂

  3. Superb work Victor! I have a Holga here that I’ve had for years and never used. Now you certainly make me want to use it!!

    1. Thank you Sam. Same here it was a few years without use but somehow i decided to try it again and really loved these trippy results. Have another Fomapan exposed. Now my son is also wanting to try it – his first try in film photography
