Geneva, Annecy, Tel Aviv, Jaffa and Jerusalem – everything about people.

Geneva, Annecy, Tel Aviv, Jaffa and Jerusalem – everything about people.

I know – it was unforgivably long, this pause between my latest posts. But this pause is saying nothing – I still shoot a lot – both film and digital. I’m kinda turned into the weekend photographer like many of us. That sounds sad and that’s a sad reality, but. There are many other not less interesting things attracting me and I have not enough time for everything.

Today i decided to merge a few different geographical locations – some located far, some relatively close to my living place. The connecting parts will be people, black and white point of view and the sharp lens of Ricoh GRii pocket monster camera, as I call it sometimes.

A few words about this camera. I use it already more than half a year and connected very tight to the last. I learned a lot about and used it for different kinds of situations of the interest of photographing – a wedding event, many live performance events, small collaborations and as usual life around me – outdoors and indoors. Right now, when the Ricoh GRiii is already announced and even numerous discussed and reviewed by almost every photography blogger, I do feel happy that I bought my GRii before this announcement and right now can say exactly why won’t have this renewed/upgraded one. But I will write about this more in details in my next blog post.

Enjoy the life of Geneva, Annecy, Tel Aviv, Jaffa and Jerusalem

    1. thank you Paula. i think that life of the people living around me or in the different countries of my visits are my main interest when we talk about my photography. I love to look at old urban photographs with the same interests to get what these people were once. hope that one day my images will express to someone in future what were we are 😉

  1. It seems have other interests and obligations is serving you well, Victor: I believe these may be among the best street images you’ve captured yet! My favorite is the couple waiting outside the door with a suitcase and a mattress. After some of the hotels I’ve stayed in lately, I’m tempted to bring my own mattress too! Ha ha. Cheers to you for this beautiful work.

    1. hey Heide ! thank you for the beautiful complement. This couple with the mattress i saw from my car when drived in the Southern Telaviv streets and i stopped for the moment and took this image from the window of my car. was spontaneous and great 😉 Im learning to play electric guitar these days (actually same time that i have this Ricoh camera, and this guitar is a big timeeater ;-)))

  2. Each shots are an amazing! This is so called true street photography . Each has its’own story .. I can’t pick one..

  3. Hi Victor, wonderful, superb results with your GRII! As always, your images are full of life. I enjoyed all the images, especially the person holding the bed was a great catch! I actually thought these were film images at first!

    1. thank you very much Sam. you’re right somehow these results taken with the digital Ricoh are looking like taken on film probably this similar lens creates this feeling ?

      1. It’s very possible Victor because manufacturers try to create consistency within their cameras and lenses. Now I don’t know if you feel the same, but the cameras are so good these days, that it is really the photographer! I don’t think a GRIII would do any better than you did with this 🙂

        1. yes i saw many reviews and read a few articles about. more megapixels, touch screen, image stabilization. not sure if i need this. bit they also removed the builtin flash and a few very useful buttons. and this annoying.
