Old meets new – Asahi 50mm lens attached to the digital body – part ii

today i missed the speech of President Obama – his last speech during this cadence. i saw all the numerous posts about this on Facebook, Google plus and Twitter i got some mistaken feeling that i’m the only one in whole this university who had the audacity to go to bed and not to wait for something additional that he forget to say during long 8 years. but what i want to say is how wrong this social media affects us into thinking in a massive way manner.

let’s continue our business – slow photography, everyday few shoots which i take (or trying to take) during busy work days or during dark evenings. i call this photography “slow” cos it’s really slow, slow in focusing. i continue my discovery of the territorii surround me with Asahi manual 50mm lens and now with additional Asahi 28mm. i miss the f/1.4 wider Aperture of 50mm glass because the 28mm is only f3.5. not good for my night observations. but.. i can be slower than usual with a shutter speed. the last image is the first sample how nice this 28mm glass and how beautiful and strange the lens flare created by. my next post will be about this lens and what i got (yes already got) by using it..

enjoy…

  1. Good morning Victor, it was the dog you shared at G+ that leaded me here for a quick view.. that happened a few days ago. Now I have a little more time at my hands to come back for a second look around. It’s living I see, moments of life real.

  2. Another proof about the quality of them old analog lenses. I have only two “modern” lenses for my digital Nikon, but a lot of fixed focus analog Nikkor lenses, and I don’t miss anything.
