Red Sea, Eilat – early morning at the empty beach.

My recent visit to Eilat, was short and very busy so I had no time to use two of small pocket cameras I took there with me – one Ricoh GR film camera with a few rolls – black&white and color, and the second Ricoh GRii digital. At this morning of the last day, I woke up early with the idea to go to the closest to my hotel beach, that I already visited in the evening before and spent there exactly 15 minutes. I wanted to walk along the shore, to breath the fresh air of the starting hot day, to listen to the sound of waves and of course to take some images.

The beach was almost empty with the only few visitors, who willed to finish their water procedures before the rising sun comes to the middle of the burned sky. Most of the images in this post were taken at 6:38 AM. These mountains at the background are Jordans mountains – exactly the direction to Petra. These mountains look very epic during the early morning hour when the ricing sun creates these magical silhouettes of something you never can reach.

The last three images in color are from our company activity in the desert area close to Eilat. I took this selfie with the same Ricoh GRii – with the really old school style without seeing the display of the camera 🙂

  1. Impressive work! Yes Ricoh is a great camera but your eyes on photographing has a better dynamic range than your camera .. :
