A few hours in the old city Jerusalem – it’s all about people (part ii)

I planned this post since early morning. But found a lot of important things to do during another “useless’ Saturday (Sabbath). I finished my morning exercises and made a first glass of coffee. With the coffee in one hand I went to my garden to clean around and water the plants. Finally, the cleaning process was unnecessary, due to the stormy wind, carrying clouds of dust and sand from one place to place. Then i decided to play guitar, digeridoo and Stylophone. All this burned up about 3-4 additional hours of my life, but I had a lot of fun exercising my left brain.

Today i continue the series, i started one month ago which was dedicated to the life of the streets of Jerusalem. All the photographs (already published, as well as those planned for publication) were taken during my spontaneous visits to Jerusalem on early Saturday mornings. I love to feel the slow awakening and lazy filling of the public spaces, and the opening of markets and private shops. Indeed, I enjoy watching people, no matter what they do.

Additionally to my ongoing photography series – Unforgettable Ethiopia – after trip photo notes, Snapshots from the car – my purposeless photography and Why I love night photography, and why you should too, I have started several new personal “projects”.

When I describe my ongoing photography process as a “personal project,” I mean that I photograph with a specific purpose, returning again and again to the same place or situation with the idea of some kind of research. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. I hope that my interest in this investigation will not diminish in the middle of the process 🙂 But it’s like reading Haruki Murakami’s books. when the process of reading itself is important and interesting, since the final part of his books is usually not particularly interesting.

    1. Thank you Matt. I photographed these just a days and weeks before the war started. But also during these days the life is still continue and nothing can stop it.
      Thank you very much.

      1. It’s always been a fascination I’ve had when studying history — how do/did the noncombatants deal with the day to day. And I know the boring answer is: Life goes on, chores still need to be done, etc.

  1. Melancholic beautiful series!! Some are just so creative!! BTW.I can’t imagine what’s happening there Victor . Yet life goes on. ✌️💙🤍
