Photo story from the seashore – taken with the new film camera.
A week ago i wrote a text for the new, very technically oriented blog post about my internal dialog with myself about which analog point and shot camera i would like to find next. I’m sure that the text of this post will be boring for most of my followers, although it does contain some studied information. But today i would like to bring you this short photo-story, which i photographed with the new for me, even 38-40 years old Ricoh FF-3 camera.
One day, during the first roll run with this camera, i took a day off in the middle of the week and decided to went to the northern, less popular part of the Beit Yanai beach. I love to visit this place exactly due to this reason – it’s much less popular, so as well, much less crowded. The day was a little bit windy and chill for sunbathing, but perfect for a short walk and photography.
I put my attention on this guy, fishing alone with the relatively short fishing net, which he was dragging folded into a plastic box. I watched from afar for a while, but when he caught up with me, i I decided to get closer and take some pictures documenting the process.
From the new questions i asked him, i got that he sell freshly caught fish to acquaintances and neighbors. The name of the fish is Buri or “Flathead grey mullet” by WIKI. Finally, I didn’t want to disturb him, so I continued my walk.
I have a similar camera, a Ricoh TF-500. It has a very intuitive design and is fun to take photos with despite its large size. I like the strong contrast you’ve achieved, I’ve never with B&W film and I’m considering it now
Thank you very much Kyle. This camera was a choice of mine due to the manual ISO settings option. I will talk about it in my next blogpost 😉 Seems like i read about TF-500 and it’s fully automatic, right ?
What a beautiful story lines on each shot Victor .
