next subject for my photography – part iii
some of my article’s themes became very popular like this –the next subject for my photography. i guess that this question is very usual for every photographer – and it’s not only about “what to shoot”, but also “why to shoot” or even “why i’m taking pictures”. for me taking pictures is like breathing, i have my camera always with me (actually two cameras – one the regular DSLR with one of prime lens attached, and another – pocket size film camera), but sometimes i just notice that almost not use them both during a week and mainly at weekends, when i have time to relax myself, to slow down my run and to plan some project to shoot. to “shoot by idea” is my definitely prefered kind of taking photos today, I almost ended with a long city walks and natural places explorations for a random not connected to each other pictures.

You have a beautiful eye, Victor. Although these images are random, they all show a deep appreciation for the quality of the light — and there’s such a stillness to them, too. Although I always have a camera with me also, the question of “what to shoot” or even “why” is often negated by the pressures of daily life: having to get to work, being stuck in traffic during a beautiful “golden hour,” etc. But you’ve inspired me to try to make something of those ordinary everyday moments, anyway! Thank you.

I find I am happiest to take a walk with my camera. Usually DSLR with a prime lens attached (28mm or 50mm). Sometimes I will just have my phone. I then shoot what catches my eye. Granted some things work and others don’t, that is just how it is.
Great Sharon. Looks like i overdose a little bit with a walks but you know – last weekend i visited the open air market in Jerusalem and was happy like a child; -)

I’ll have to go look for the two previous parts of this post now 🙂 I’m currently stuck at “why am I taking pictures” and what subjects I’m attracted to when taking pictures… I have noticed when I start shooting by idea I rarely come up with something meaningful and very often end up with something completely different lol :))
My thoughts came when i started to shoot by requests. I find myself swimming well when im the boss of myself but to work for clients was too difficult for me even projects were interesting. Thank you for taking a look and very kind words Alexandra! Btw. I return back to this “why I’m taking pictures” all the time again and again
