Unpolished Jerusalem on an overcast day.
The weather forecast predicted a rainy weekend. For us, rain in September is a major EVENT. As you can guess – nothing happened. Just a few clouds that didn’t even cover the whole sky. Just another sunny and very hot day. It’s closer to our harsh reality. In the morning, I needed to finish up some things. And finally, when I had finished with all the minor, day-to-day plans, i found that the back tire of my bicycle is flat. I pumped it up with air just two weeks ago and has used it only twice since then. The nearest to me bicycle maintenance service was closed already. And in two days we have a Kippurim day when i planed to use my bicycle during 24 hours (well, of course with pauses). I don’t have any tools at home patch a hole in the tire, so the only hope is for the morning after tomorrow.
I’m writing today’s post not with a beer, but with yerba mate. I became an addict of mate. Already tried a different brands, which can be bought in local stores, most of these are Argentinian. But my favorite is became the Paraguayan Kurupi Clasica mate, which I bought a year ago at some store, and which isn’t available anywhere now. I love it for very dominant deep taste which is smoky and bitter. Of coerce the amount of caffeine is vey high and close to amount of caffeine in coffee.
A few words about photography – that’s why we’re here for, isn’t it? Now I plan to make the most of this long four-day holiday weekend. This post is a great start of doing something creative. As well, I’m thinking of making another photo zine/book. I just have to put together all the ideas and to pull one from this jumble. My three previous “photo zines” are still available in the Blurb “online store”.
And here the serias of photographs for today’s post. It was an overcast day, as was promised us for today. There were no one happy face captured for this series. It’s seems like i also was not in the best of moods. About the title – Jerusalem is always was, is and will be unpolished. “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” mood of the city created by the extremely different energy of residents and visitors – and additionally to the three “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” i have to add – amazing, hospitable (not for everyone) and wise.

Great feeling for the streets and its people, Victor
