Collaboration with amazing friends and beautiful strangers (part-vi).
As usual my photography is flowing much smoother and faster then images publishing and especially blog writing “business”. Words don’t come easy to me. Well, I’m just a photography man, images are so far my best friend. 🙂 I paraphrased here the beautiful words written by F.R. David about the coming out wrong words. Everybody is fighting with his/her own problems.
Today i would like to publish a series of my photo collaboration with friends, co-workers and strangers, photographed recently, during May-August. Since i don’t have a digital P&S everywhere with me, i’m trying to stay updated with these “snapshots”, photographing them with film P&S. I think that my “investigation was successful and i’m more and tightly connecting with the awesome Ricoh FF-3 which is serving my need during the day and night sessions, walks and projects. I really willing to have a manual selective focus distance like the Ricoh XF-30 has. But having everything in one small underrated packed It’s a bit of an unfulfilled dream.
Right now i’m trying to set for myself some alternative “system” to my RIP Ricoh GR. I found the Canon 28mm 1.8 EF is very sharp lens and very small and light in size and in its weight, and it can my very nice extension for my working horse Canon 5dmkii. But the local stores already don’t have it in their stock. They completely moved to the mirrorless technology and already cleared out their stocks. Sounds like the same story as happened to the Vinyl, cassettes, CDs and the tapes before. The same story as happened to the analog photography, when most of the stores completely wiped out the “old” stuff as a sacrifice to the new technologies. The race never ends and new horses replace the “exhausted” ones.

And for the end – my experimental video work, which i finished with the same old working horse Canon 5dmkii and the unattached Asahi 50mm lens. On guitar is the legendary Ehud Danan – The “Guitar Killer”.

What a great experience and loving the photos that immortalise all Victor.
thank you for the kind words my friend !!
Love the free lensing video, works well with guitar player doing his thing. Hope he’s in a rock n roll band somewhere, that’s excellent shredding! Great to see all your pals and their happy faces. Lovely post Victor.
He was part of a few blues and stoner rock bands here. All of these are not too active these days, so he is playing a lot alone or collaborating with other artists of these Genres. Right now he is working on his solo project GuitarKiller – when he is taking the amplifiers – one or many to.the exotic places of the country. All this is going to his IG channel with this name..A few times I attended his trips..For fun and for photography
Always good to have photographic friends!
Fantastic connection series Victor 📷
Thank you Naomi
Love the images and video. I can see why Ehud Danan is called the guitar killer.
Yes he is the real Guitar Killer 😉 thank you for taking a look
Loved your captures Victor. Your friends all make fine subjects for naturally presented ‘at ease in their lifestyle’ results. The video is nicely thought out too. Great guitarist. I was reminded of the Johnny Depp Sauvage advert in the desert for his Elixir eau de cologne promotion.
My VeeDub Bus project, with my songwriting, playing and singing outdoors in the open air will have similar themes. Capturing on video and photographs for a YouTube consideration. Collaboration with other artists like musicians, singers, photographers and film maker enthusiasts is probably what will be required. The artists of different genres has camaraderie as a vibe and is to be treasured.
I would love, initially, to take the still black and white film photos and make the videos myself. But would need a tripod and timer for camera and iPad work. Inclusion of others though, as yourself for example with your work here with musicians is, as said, always a fantastic social vibe. Flying solo with trying to do it all by oneself, can be restrictive artistically and claustrophobic.
Thank you for sharing these Victor. Fantastic to see your results. All the best.
Thank you Gray. I will check your post about the VeeDub Bus project, just saw the images from inside of the beautiful bus. Good luck with this project. To pity I’m living too far from you and can’t visit you and to document your journey.
Cheers for taking a look. I did think the same thing too regarding you taking some photos and video work. I have contacts from old musician friends and blog friends on here of musicians too. They live far away, Europe and as far as America and Australia, but would be great to do some songwriting collaborations and recording with. I know technology can cross the world now, and some projects can get done long distance. But it isn’t the same as human interactive direct contact and the shared ideas dynamics to achieve good artistic results.
All the best Victor.
indeed ! working during personal meetings is absolutely different especially when artists spend some long time together during the album recording process or rehabs. Same as photographers – we spoke a lot online, but have much more joy when we walk together.
Music in itself brings joy. Synergy of producing sound with others is far more enjoyable than laying down a collective of single instrumental tracks yourself to achieve a song. And when we had the photography group in the Social Services centre I once worked at, it was always nice to see the service users gain so much pleasure in sharing ideas with their peers when out on a photography jaunt. Both art forms are a good marriage too. We had a drumming and theatre/acting group too and the sessions were often photographed by service users.
