The “Balfour protest” diary – part ii – We are not silent anymore.

In many cases the silence is a consent, tacit consent is horrible. Well, some of us can’t say their NO in full voice due to the different reasons, some of us not sure if we have the right to say something that does not coincide with the views of our authorities. Some of us are not usual to express an opinion aloud. Some of us just wait when the dissenting mass will become critical.

I accept all the arguments, everything is about our personal opinion and desire, and these are the pillars of the democracy that is in danger in Israel.
The day may come when this silence becomes mandatory, as it was during my childhood and youth in CCCP where I grew up and spent exactly half of my life. I always was a kind of rebel – in the Soviet Army, and during my student years. Finally, I left the country in search of a freer society. Now I see all the germs of dictatorship which I can recognize even by smell. And this smell is very unpleasant.

One good news. I made the first video contain my still photographs from the first days of my attending of the Balfour protests in Jerusalem. 2:40 min short video you can find below.
The background music is my own. The real protest’s sound I recorded during the events. The graphics of the first frame 1984-2020 was made by my brother Sergio Bezrukoff. For the real sound recording, I used by ZOOM H6 recorder that I took from my son Tom Geffen Bezrukov.
