1.1.2016 – deadly shooting on Disengoff street, TelAviv.

“”happy” end” – the perpetrator is found and eliminated, but for some reason i don’t feel any joyfulness about. i prefer absolutely different end of story – to return back to the life all 4 (3 victims and the killer) and to have some short\long conversation with the killer – what exactly motivated him to start this execution and to avoid this useless to anyone bloodshed
a few words about the images below. on my way to the Dizengoff street i found that TelAviv is still alive. People are going to Habima theatre highlighted and beautiful, the parking was full and took some time to find the place to leave my car there. Pedestrians, bicycles and other attributes of the urban life. the signals of changes in routine started in something like 400-500 metres from the place – the street was closed for transport and people. After 20 minutes of waiting, police leaved the street, everything was open and life returned. the only lighted candles, holes in the windows of the bus stop, mess in the pub and mixed with visitors and news staff crowd reminded about what happened here something like 30+ hours ago…

enjoy…

  1. Beautiful images. Sadly, as a species we often find it easier to just kill of what we can’t relate to or feel disconnected from then to feel any power to speak. We use guns to wield the power we really do have in our hearts in minds, confusing guns to mean real power. When really guns are our weakness and our fear at play.

  2. Deeply moving story and photos. In a way it is a good thing we are so resilient and somewhat callous, if not you would sit in a corner and howl with pain about the horrors committed, relentless, time and time again.

  3. Pictures like silent witnesses, expressing perfectly the mood. Like always catched with emotion.. Thank you for this posting..

    1. Thank you Aline. I shooted these images one week ago and was in doubts if I’m going to make a post about. But time makes the work and i connected mentally with the moments even the happened here is too sad and crazy in every point of view.

  4. I really cannot comprehend all the evil going on these days. May God Bless us with mercy and peace. Really powerful work Victor!!

  5. Great images. The one of the couple holding hands is very poignant. So sad that the minority can cause so much misery. How you describe normal life continuing is really interesting. That was something I noticed about the Israelis when I was in Israel many years ago – A very resilient people who get on with life despite being surrounded by those who would destroy them. Touching and sad. I hope you have a peaceful and happy 2016.

  6. Strong images! So sad how we humans are killing each other because the interests of a limited group of people who want power. I never been to Israel but will love to go some day, its a beautiful country, with great people.

  7. Victor – it has been so long since I have been able to sit and study the emotions and techniques and styles of your photographic genius. You know exactly when is enough and when is too much . Your photographs tell a story perfectly. Dear friend , this last year has been so very hard and confusing . There is anger and hatred faster to lash out amongst people than there is tolerance and understanding and an excitement to experience life and different people and their ideas . Different points of view in life just as in the angles we shoot photographs to see something new and exciting is how I view our lives . I do not want to harm others. What is wrong? The world is on fire . My website has been down . I am about to renew the site and I hope to be able to study your work more . You are a great teacher and friend . Irenadawn
