Fomapan 400 exposed with medium format Holga camera partX.

Long long long time ago I published 9 blog posts on this theme – every post was a series of images from the same roll of the Fomapan 120 ISO400 film. All of them were exposed to the unbelievable fantastic MF Holga camera. Once I found this combination as very nice, specially developed within a stand or semi-stand developing process in the legendary Rodinal developer. You can ask me – why Rodinal and why stand? There are no secrets and the reason is very simple – this camera is a wonderful lack of anything that can help us to be more prepared for the different light condition situation – the only thing we can change is the aperture from more open to less open. And it’s impossible to know is it exactly f13 or f11 or maybe f8. So once we have decided what speed of the film we are going to use we stay with the only f11 and f13 plus also absolutely guessing the distance to the subject of shooting. So here the stand developing is coming to make the things more manageable. I tried to look deeper and to find some explanation I wrote about this process and found that I have so many posts with the results posted here in my blog, that I can’t already find any so send you here.

This time i got only 6 useful frames. Seems like I experimented with the multi exposures much and burned half of the roll to the unsuitable results. Shit happens and sometimes even Rodinal with the stand process can’t help.

During the second global lockdown just a few weeks ago I got this camera in my hands again. This time I wanted to try another film – the ilford FP4 125 and the regular developing process in D-76 developer. Here and there I shooted multi-exposures, in some frames the light condition was too controversial for this combination of the slow film and not too adjustable camera but seems like most of the results I got in these two rolls are ok. The roles already developed but still not scanned due to the problems with the DC adaptor of my Epson V500 that is finished it’s attending in the photography process. So now I’m deadly stuck in the decisions about to buy another AC adapter, to find myself a new V800, or to migrate the whole scanning process to the DSLR “scanning”.
