Why I love night photography, and why you should too (part vii).

(Zero AI – 100% human created content).

Hello there and here. As a social nomad I’m not stopping in any place for a long period of time, prefer to move from one social network to another social network, but to stay permanently at my personal photo blog site, which is the most stable and up on me how long it will exist in the informative wilds. Today I tried to log on to my account on ELLO[.]co (if you remember or ever heard about this amazing for artists place). The place was closed. The last time I used this site few months ago. From the news on Google, I found that one day the site just stopped working. No notice from the owners, and no “closing” message on the landing page. Nothing. It’s like the life of many people. They just don’t wake up in the morning or stop their breathing spontaneously, without any pre-notification, goodbye message last address to descendants. NADA.

I remember like now how Google Plus closed its gateways. They announced their end something around half a year before the final action. To tell you what way is better? I can’t. Both ways are coming to the same sign – The service does not exist anymore. Was and is no longer.

Well, I already forgot what I tried to say with this long introduction.

I wrote a lot about my love for photography during the low light conditions. It can be night street, night political event, usually not really highlighted, rock’n’roll events in closed places, and everything else bad (perfect) illuminated. My love for this came from my first days in photography when I had limited knowledge about how not to be limited and continue using cameras 24/7. These far days, one of my acquaintances, a local street photographer, told me after the street walk, around seven o’clock in the evening, that he left for beer and he finished his “job”. I was kind of “shocked” but did not really know how should I continue the walk when the sunlight wasn’t available anymore, additionally, I was highly not agreeing to shoot my walk down.

We have two options, when we don’t know something – to stay in ignorance, or to learn something new. I choose the second option, always preferable for me

The recent weeks were extremely low in any creative activity for me. My daily job just killing me. Seriously. I love my type of employment there, but the communication with some people makes me feel stuck on Tik Tok. People lost their patience, don’t want to finish their task, and ready to devote yourself to them for 15 seconds and start something new, again for the next 15 seconds. I really understand the origin of this lack of patience. We created the robotic machines, household appliances, helping to reduce and save time applications, now also AI. All this should help us complete every operation almost instantly and give us back the time we wasted. So what exactly do we do with this returned back time? We waste it on FB and IG. Making likes is the most popular activity of this decade. Especially without unnecessarily wasting time reading and delving deeper into the topic of the published. I used to put likes as well. I know that this way I can help people to fight with the algorithms of social networks. Deja Vu.

But despite all this, i forced myself to finish something that i started in 2020 – The “Quarantine in the village – apocalypse now and here” photo ZINE. I wrote already a few words about, and in the next post i will write about it a little bit wider.

  1. Oh my goodness Victor NIGHT OWL…:):) These are extremely great. . As for the Google plus thanks to G+ that is how I’ve found out your work Ethiopia all sort of great stuff!

  2. I don’t do social media other than here on WP, glad you are here too because your images are always inspiring and thought provoking.

    1. Thank you for the kind words. I don’t like to use social media, but most of my friends and connections are there. Additionally it’s a great way (sure we pay for it in some way) to spread the world about new posts here on WP. I’m not really using WP as a basic application. Im hosting my site on the open source WordPress package and just connected it to the application. Trying to reduce me existing on the social as much as possible. Really envy you that you are successfully avoiding this noise.

  3. Hi Victor! I too am a big fan of night photography and it’s obvious you’re a veteran of the night too. Incredible shots!
