portraits and people, Ethiopia trip

i can’t believe that the time is running so fast. almost one month is over after my trip to Ethiopia, but everything is so fresh in my memories. when i work on the photographs taken during the one week visit, i still remember every single moment and the places where all this happened. i did the pause with the post about Ethiopia with the “dark” and “bright” posts and also with my “thoughts” about the “next” photography subjects and themes.

every stop of our car was immediately recognised by kids even it was in absolutely empty places, in the middle of nothing – in a few minutes they had already running to our car. happy, curious, some of them slightly scared. in my photo “sessions” i tried to make “classic” staged portraits and in some moments i had success to manage this. but mostly all the “classic” scenes were “ruined” by the numerous funny friends of my models.

enjoy the moments and portraits :

  1. wonderful. The 2nd is my personal favourite, with the first and one before last coming right after it.

  2. Well done, what a trip. I like them all and particularly the boy with tree and cattle in the bg and the boy with the cross round his neck..that tells a story, I bet. Looking forward to the next series about Ethiopia, Victor.

    1. Thank you very much Paula for taking a look and so kind words. It took a long time for me to decide how to represent my photographs taken there and partially to disconnect from the subject cos i remember every single moment of these days and every pocture still something special and part of my heart; -) more works on the way

    1. I think that this effect created by the high aperture that i used in my portrait shots. Mostly i used 1.4 sometimes lowered down to 2 or 2.8. Thank you very much !

  3. Simply beautiful – portraits which have well known you capture the emotions !! a great series, congratulations

  4. Замечательные фотки, Виктор.
И черно-белый формат их делает ещё более
замечательными. Жалко что вы не в Бруклине.
Я бы у вас взял несколько уроков.
