catch the light or photography exercises 3

i was on my way to find an opening of some Art exhibition, instead of exhibition i found them playing. his attempts to catch the ball were catastrophic, even his dog was wondered how huge the hole between his hands. in a few minutes after an observation of the unsuccessful game, I discovered the LIGHT..

what Exhibition ? what Art ? i immediately forget about everything and my short term planes were replaced with no-term no-planed investigation of LIGHT. this place is constructed simply perfect – sports ground lighted from the corners, surrounded by a fine mesh and tall trees. all this just invited me – stay here and take some snaps, so i kindly agreed. i felt myself like light investigator and pathfinder.

“what i seen there” part. this huge amount of layers just amazed me. every tree created very different form and strength of the shadow, depending on the distance to the source of the light and to the screen (the wall).i had the feeling of multidimensional reflection on the wall. this empty nylon sac looked like a glowing jellyfish and light breeze moved it from side to side like waves bear the jellyfish in the desert of the sea. every scene had it’s own complete geometry or consisted of geometric shapes. in a few words – the night idyll of idyll of geometry, light, shadows and the clicking of my camera mirror.

now the technical part. when i use camera in low light condition places, i just set the ISO to 3200 and immediately forget about. one can say that the noise can be visible and high – my answer is “yes”. in the part of images i used Aperture priority because the light was a little bit higher than average in this place and i was not worried about the Shutter speed and was sure that with F/2 or even F/2.8 speed still remain higher than 1/50 (i used 50mm prime lens this evening). but in most images Exposure program was Manual when the light was very low and limited the Shutter speed to 1/60 or 1/160. everything is depend on the quantity and intensity of light of the scene that i wanted to bring exactly like my eyes saw it.

  1. I follow you on g+,on Facebook and I have no words to express myself about what you’re doing here. I LOVE all your work and I know I am not the first or the last who’s telling you that .

  2. I could not help but express how incredible the photo with the trees and the light and the movement in the nylon , the second click after the man and boy playing ball— this is like a dream to capture. I have been practicing very much in different lighting and this kind of look in the just before to dark light in the blowing leaves one evening was so exciting to capture. Sorry to bother.

  3. Thank you Victor for reporting this one on my email. I am having to really practice with adjustments . In my nighttime shooting. Thank you. I hope you are have fun in Spain. I hear there was some uprising about independence going on there in the North. I hope you are not in middle of trouble, but you would love it !
